The sad state of the remnants of the Carron Iron Works, on the outskirts of Falkirk, has been highlighted by one campaigner. Photographer John Fullerton said the site had been “left to rot”.

The works site was established by one of James Watt’s business partners, the industrialist John Roebuck. The remaining buildings feature part of a Watt boiler.
