James Watt’s Cottage workshop at Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness is set to feature in the BBC’s “Antiques Road Trip” show in 2019.
Presenter Anita Manning and her production team visited the site in the summer of 2018.
The Linlithgow Gazette reports that the programme featuring Kinneil is set to be broadcast in 2019 – the 200th anniversary of Watt’s death. The exact transmission date has not been revealed at the time of writing.
Geoff Bailey from Falkirk Community Trust – which manages the Estate – said: “I had to explain what a separate condenser was on film several times, which was quite a challenge!
“Antiques Road Trip highlighting the cottage at Kinneil as the site of Watt’s most famous invention will be a great platform for us.”
The programme also visited the nearby Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway, which keeps steam power alive just a short walk from the historic cottage.
