A new book on James Watt is being published by the University of Pittsburgh Press in the spring of 2019.

“The Life and Legend of James Watt: Collaboration, Natural Philosophy, and the Improvement of the Steam Engine” by David Philip Miller is set to launch on May 7 (hardcover, $50, ISBN 978-0-8229-4558-1)

The book will aim to offer a “contemporary interpretation” of the significance of inventor Watt and his role developing the steam engine.

David Philip Miller is emeritus professor of history of science at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities and a member of the International Academy of the History of Science.
