The University’s of Glasgow’s School of Engineering has now become the James Watt School of Engineering – in honour of inventor James Watt, who once worked at the University. This year marks the 200th anniversary of Watt’s death.

Professor David Cumming, the head of (the renamed) school, said: “The James Watt School of Engineering is aligned to the innovative spirit of Watt through research, teaching and professional leadership.”
