History fans can now buy a complete Highland Dress outfit featuring the new James Watt tartan.

The tartan was developed for Inverclyde Council to mark the 200th anniversary of inventor Watt’s death.

A number of small commemorative items, such as tartan ties, have been produced and sold in the area.

Now a retailer in Greenock – Kilts4Less – is offering the “full attire” to customers.

Pictures are on the shop’s Facebook page.

Lorraine McAlister from the firm has been quoted in the local paper, The Greenock Telegraph, saying there has been interest online from people in Canada and America.

Kilts4Less owner Jim Sweeney added: “We are so proud to have been part of the creation and commission of this tartan, commemorating the life of one of Greenock’s most famous sons.”
